 Raising Awareness: 'Adhyavi' Program on Violence Against Women

On November 25th, 2024, which marks the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, we, the first-year B.Ed. students, participated in a meaningful event organized by the Women’s Cell of Baselios Marthoma Mathews II Training College. The event, titled 'Adhyavi', brought together all first-year students and staff members to raise awareness about this important cause.

The program began with an insightful awareness session by Mrs. Neethu Raj, a student from the Malayalam Department, who highlighted the significance of this day and the increasing need to address the issue of violence against women. Following this, a documentary created by the first-year students from all optional subjects was showcased at the General Hall. To further engage participants, a collage competition was held on the theme "VICTIM to VICTORY", encouraging students to reflect on the strength and resilience of women overcoming violence. The event proved to be an important initiative, reminding everyone of the need for continued efforts to eliminate violence against women.

Film Fest

 

Cinema Paradise: A Celebration of Film and Dreams

The inauguration of the Film Club and Film Festival was held today at Baselios Marthoma Mathews II Training College, Kottarakkara. The ceremony, which began at 10:00 AM, was conducted by Mr. Arun. During the event, the Film Club was officially named Cinema Paradise. Following the inauguration, two films, Adi Kappyare Koottamani and Chathikatha Chandhu, were screened for the audience. The festival concluded at 3:30 PM, marking the end of a successful and engaging day.

WORKSHOP OF SOCIALLY USEFUL PRODUCT

Creating Change: A Practical Approach to Socially Useful Productive Work  

As part of the B.Ed curriculum, a workshop on Socially Useful Productive Work (EDU 103.1) was organized today at Baselios Marthoma Mathews II Training College, Kottarakkara. The session was led by Mr. Mohanlal, a retired school teacher and the resource person for the day. The program commenced at 10:00 AM with a presidential address delivered by our principal, Mr. Riju John.

The workshop began with an insightful introduction by Mr. Mohanlal, emphasizing the importance of environmental conservation and sustainable living. This was followed by a hands-on session on craft-making, where participants created various handmade items, including bags, lotions, soaps, and files. These activities offered a practical understanding of sustainable practices and their role in environmental preservation. The session successfully concluded at 3:30 PM.

LEADERSHIP PROGRAM

 Transformative Leadership: Building Skills for Effective Leadership

As part of the B.Ed. curriculum, a workshop for EDU01 was conducted on 16th November 2024 at 9:30 AM in the General Hall. The resource person, Mr. R. Kiran Bodhi, led the session, which began at 9:30 AM and concluded at 4:00 PM.

During the morning session, he delivered a class on leadership, using an engaging PowerPoint presentation. This was followed by interactive games that kept participants active and engaged throughout. Each game highlighted essential qualities that are vital for us to embody as teacher trainees.

In the afternoon session, each team was tasked with presenting a skit on different topics. The day was filled with laughter, joy, and excitement, making it a memorable and enriching experience for all.

PHYSICAL SCIENCE DEPARTMENT ASSOCIATION

 A Celebratory and Energetic Association Day: TACHYON Unveiled

The Physical Science Department Association Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm on 12th November 2024 at 2:00 PM in the General Hall. The event began with an invocation prayer, followed by a warm welcome speech from Jeeja, a student. Dr. Shamna Rani, the event chair and faculty member, emphasized the importance of collaboration and creativity in education. The principal, Riju John, unveiled the department’s association logo and name, "TACHYON," symbolizing speed, energy, and dynamism.

The celebration included vibrant cultural performances, with students showcasing their talents through dance and music, creating a lively atmosphere. Engaging games encouraged active participation, fostering teamwork among students and faculty. The highlight of the day was a thrilling treasure hunt, where the Mathematics Department emerged victorious. The event, filled with fun, creativity, and camaraderie, left everyone with lasting memories and a renewed enthusiasm for departmental activities.

NATURAL SCIENCE DEPARTMENT ASSOSIATION

 BIOPHILIA Connecting with Nature Through Culture and Teamwork

The Natural Science Department celebrated its Association Day on 11th November 2024 at 2:00 PM in the General Hall. The event began with an invocation prayer, followed by a warm welcome speech delivered by Soja. Dr. Praveena M, a faculty member of the Natural Science Department, presided over the event, offering inspiring words to mark the occasion.

Our principal, Riju John, unveiled the association's logo and name, "BIOPHILIA," reflecting the department's deep connection to nature and life sciences. As a gesture of gratitude and environmental consciousness, the students of the Natural Science Department presented a Tulsi plant to the college, symbolizing growth, health, and sustainability.

Celebrating Sportsmanship and Teamwork at SMASH 2K24

As part of the B.Ed. curriculum, the much-awaited sports meet, SMASH 2K24, was held on 9th November 2024 at the college ground from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The event featured exciting competitions like football and cricket, ensuring that every participant had an opportunity to showcase their skills and enthusiasm.

Each one of us actively participated in at least one event, making the sports meet inclusive and energetic. To keep everyone refreshed and motivated, snacks and water were provided, helping us stay energized throughout the activities.

The event concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, where our principal, Riju John, awarded medals and certificates to the winners, celebrating their achievements. The thrill of competition, the cheerful laughter during games, and the spirited support for teammates created an electric atmosphere, leaving us with cherished memories of camaraderie, teamwork, and pure joy.

MATHEMATICS DEPARTMENT ASSOCIATION

EQUAVISTA A Memorable Celebration of Math and Teamwork

 Today marked the grand celebration of our Mathematics Subject Association Day, a memorable occasion filled with enthusiasm and joy. The program began at 2:00 PM with a heartfelt welcome address by Albin K Alexander, the chairman of the college, who set the tone for the event with his warm words. This was followed by an inspiring presidential address delivered by Ms. Vismaya, who highlighted the significance of mathematics in shaping critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Our principal, Mr. Riju, took the stage to officially announce the name of our association as EQUAVISTA, symbolizing a clear and balanced perspective towards mathematical learning and exploration. His words motivated the audience to view mathematics as not just a subject but a tool for innovation and growth.

The event was packed with engaging and entertaining activities. Participants showcased their talents through vibrant dance performances, melodious songs, and intellectually stimulating games. The games, designed to test mathematical aptitude and logical reasoning, were a major highlight, fostering teamwork and healthy competition. Winners were awarded prizes, adding an extra layer of excitement and encouragement for everyone involved. The celebration concluded at 3:30 PM, leaving students and faculty alike with a sense of accomplishment and unity.  Cultural Showcase and Team Spirit at RITHVA Social Science Day

The Social Science Department Association program was held on 7th November 2024 at 2:00 PM in the General Hall. The event began with a prayer seeking the blessings of the almighty. Adhila delivered the welcome speech, setting a warm tone for the celebration. Following this, Sheeja, a faculty member of the Social Science Department, gave the presidential address. The event was officially inaugurated by our principal, Riju John, who also announced the name of the association as 'RITHVA.'

The program featured a variety of cultural performances by students from the Social Science Department. Music and dance acts infused the day with vibrant energy and color. Additionally, games were organized, encouraging participation from students across different departments. The cultural performances, coupled with shared moments of laughter and inspiration, reminded us of the strength found in diversity and collaboration. Each program showcased the unique contributions of our members and emphasized the power of working together to create something truly exceptional.

Inaugural Ceremony and Cultural Celebration of the Malayalam Department Association "KALOSMI"

The Malayalam Department Association program was held on November 5th, 2024, at 2 PM in the General Hall. The event commenced with a heartfelt prayer by Kalyani Krishnan, setting a serene tone for the occasion. Following the prayer, Neethu Raj delivered a warm and welcoming speech, expressing gratitude to all attendees and setting the stage for the day’s festivities. The presidential address was given by Akhil Sir, a respected faculty member of the Malayalam department, who spoke about the importance of cultural unity and the role of the association in nurturing student talents. The event was officially inaugurated by Harivind Sir, who extended his support and best wishes to the newly formed association, which was named "KALOSMI," symbolizing the spirit of unity and collective growth within the department.

The celebration featured a vibrant lineup of cultural performances organized by the students of the Malayalam department.
