The first week of Phase II teaching practice marked the beginning of a renewed and insightful journey as a teacher trainee. The week provided a meaningful blend of orientation, observation, and practical classroom engagement. It helped in re-establishing familiarity with the school environment, building rapport with students and teachers, and gaining hands-on experience in handling both academic and non-academic responsibilities.
Weekly Overview
Day 1 – 05/11/2025
The day began with orientation and familiarization with the school system. As regular classes were replaced by mid-term examinations, actively participated in examination-related duties such as arranging and distributing answer sheets. Met the mentor teacher, Neethu Teacher, and handled the first mathematics class in Class 8B by introducing the chapter CIRCLES. The day provided a smooth and organized beginning, setting a positive tone for the teaching practice.
Day 2 – 06/11/2025
The second day was engaging and productive. Handled the scheduled class in ClasSs 8B and conducted an interactive teaching session that helped in establishing a positive rapport with students. Assisted in IT examination duties and supported the coordination of Kalolsavam practice in the afternoon. The day enhanced understanding of balancing classroom teaching with school-level responsibilities.
Day 3 – 07/11/2025
The third day included a combination of academic work, celebrations, and discipline-related duties. Performed morning line-up duty and participated in the NCC programme commemorating 150 years of the national song “Vande Mataram.” During the regular mathematics period in Class 8B, taught the topic CHORDS, which was well received by the students. Also assisted in midday meal distribution and Kalolsavam practice, contributing to the smooth functioning of school activities.
