Keralapiravi celebration

'Keraliyam' – A Cultural Showcase on the Birth of Kerala

1st is a significant day for Malayalees around the world, as it marks Keralapiravi, the "birth of Kerala." To celebrate this special occasion, our college organized a program titled 'Keraliyam,' which featured a wide variety of cultural events that highlighted the rich heritage and traditions of Kerala. In honor of the day, many students chose to wear traditional attire, embracing the cultural significance of the celebration. The boys wore mundu paired with a shirt, while the girls wore the iconic kasavu sarees, which are a symbol of Kerala’s elegance and grace.

One of the highlights of the event was the Malayalimanka competition, a vibrant and spirited contest that showcased the beauty, talent, and cultural pride of Malayalee women. The competition celebrated the essence of Kerala's women, their grace, and their multifaceted skills. In addition, a quiz competition was conducted, which covered a range of topics including Kerala's rich culture, its history, geography, and language. This quiz not only tested the participants' knowledge but also educated everyone about the diverse and fascinating aspects of Kerala, fostering a deeper appreciation for the state’s legacy and its cultural diversity.
