TEACHING PRACTICE PHASE-1
WEEKLY REFLECTION-2
21st July 2025 – 26th July 2025
St. Mary’s HSS Kizhakkekara
This week marked the second phase of my teaching practice, and it was filled with meaningful classroom experiences, duties, and school-level programs. Each day gave me opportunities to improve my teaching skills and to interact more effectively with students.
On 21st July (Day 6),
I introduced the concept of Unequal Division using ICT tools. The visuals and interactive slides made the lesson more attractive, and the students understood the concept easily. In the afternoon, I had lunch duty and also participated in a special program on Chandrayaan Day, which created awareness about India’s space missions.
On 22rd July- was a holiday due to the passing of former Kerala Chief Minister VS Achuthanandan.
On 23rd July (Day 7)
I had a class in the 7th period, where I solved problems based on Unequal Division taught earlier. This helped in reinforcing the topic and clarifying student doubts. My role in discipline duties also gave me experience in handling student behavior outside the classroom.
On 25th July (Day 8)
I taught a new concept under Parallel Lines – Triangle Division during the 5th period. My mentor teacher observed the class and gave useful feedback. The presence of my mentor motivated me to be more structured, and the students responded positively to the new topic.
On 26th July (Day 9)
Which was a working Saturday, I had a class in the 2nd period. I guided the students in solving problems related to Triangle Division, ensuring continuity from the previous lesson. I also performed all the regular discipline duties and signed out at the scheduled time.
Overall, this week helped me to strengthen my lesson delivery skills, balance between ICT and board work, and build confidence in handling both concept introduction and problem-solving sessions. Participation in programs like Chandrayaan Day and managing duties gave me additional exposure to school activities beyond classroom teaching
