Community Service - Day 5

Final Day at Ashraya: A Fulfilling Conclusion to a Meaningful Journey

On March 18, 2025, we reached Ashraya at 9:50 AM for the final day of our five-day visit. The day began with preparations for a debate session, where we discussed and structured our points to ensure a confident presentation. We also worked together on cutting stickers for badges to be used in the closing ceremony, a small but meaningful task that highlighted the importance of teamwork. Following this, we participated in a gardening activity—planting saplings and cleaning the garden area—which gave us a sense of satisfaction as we contributed to maintaining the Ashraya premises.

By noon, the focus shifted to a cultural program by the students of Vijaya Nursing College. The event opened with a welcome speech by Mr. Kalayapuram Jose, who emphasized the value of community involvement. The students entertained the residents with a range of vibrant and heartfelt performances, creating a joyful atmosphere. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Varghese Kurien, recognizing everyone’s efforts. Afterward, we enjoyed a shared lunch, which provided a moment to relax and reflect on the morning’s activities.

In the afternoon, we gathered in the general hall for the debate on the topic “All Pass in Exams.” The session sparked thoughtful discussion, with participants presenting well-structured arguments that encouraged critical thinking and engagement. At 4:00 PM, certificates were distributed to all participants as a token of appreciation, marking the successful completion of the program. The day concluded with tea and snacks, as we shared our thoughts and experiences, ending the visit with a deep sense of gratitude and fulfillment.
